Excellent color for my NC 40 skin. It glides on smooth and has great staying power. It's quite opaque with a satin finish. Packaging is just ok; I thought it was retractable, but it wasn't, so I had to go back to the store to buy a sharpener. My mistake! I would buy again.

I'm a big fan of this lip pencil! It's great bang for your buck and the quality is impressive. The colour is beautiful as well. I had been hunting for a maroon/red/burgundy shade and this fits the bill. On me it looks ever so slightly frosted (which wasn't exactly what I wanted), but not so much that is clashes with my warm/yellow undertones. On the contrary, I think it is extremely flattering on my fair to fair/medium skin. It's very pigmented and wow does it last! It lasted just as well if not better than the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, without being as drying. It's a rich, bold colour and I highly recommend it. For my own taste, it's a bit dark for daytime wear, but I look forward to buying and trying more shades!

Oh how I wanted to love this color but it just did not love me back. This is a very deep plum toned burgundy that has no shimmer but is not matte either. The light texture layers easily for increased intensity and this is rather moisturizing but will not bleed outside the lip line. I swatched this along with Maroon (more red but equally deep) and Narcise (more purple with a shimmer finish) and chose this one. First off the quality is just lovely with smooth even coverage and sheer moisturization. The issue is IMO I am simply too pale (and perhaps a bit too old) to pull this color off without feeling like someone is going to pass me by and mumble "liver lips". Oh to be 20 again.

I originally bought this to wear under my Bare Escentuals Buxom Lips gloss in Vanessa (a rich wine red with gold shimmer), but I won't be using it for that. Burgundy is too dark and would look strange when the Buxom Lips wore off. That doesn't mean I won't be using it, though.This is actually the lipstick shade I was on a quest to find for quite a while, a deep, rich black cherry red, but with a hint of frostiness to it. Very deep and dramatic (and trendy). I was looking for something without frost, but this is close enough and far cheaper than anything else I tried.Like my other Jumbo Lip Pencil in Pink Nude, Burgundy goes on very smoothly and evenly with no tugging or skipping or blotchiness. The pencil makes it easy to get a perfect, controlled application (which is essential with a lipstick as dark as this).As much as I like this color in principle, I don't think I'm going to be wearing it very often. Super dark lipsticks seem to look a little odd on me, as much as I want to be able to wear them. It's nothing against Burgundy, it's just me.PROS: (1) cheap; (2) very smooth application; (3) pencil makes it easy to get a perfect application; (4) deep, rich black cherry color is very trendy.CONS: (1) too dark for me to be able to wear very often.

Wow. I got this for less than a buck on sale, but the quality is amazing.Burgundy is a *highly* pigmented vibrant red that looks great on my cool PPP self. It goes on supercreamy, even without any balm underneath. And here's the thing--it wears like iron! Neither eating nor drinking seems to budge it at all. There's not a trace of it on my water glass. I'm amazed.Here's the other thing--it's verrry similar to Chanel's Holiday 2004 LE Lumieres d'Artifices lipgloss (the one in the pot with the three "highlighter" colors.
