This is my absolute favorite polish!!! I apply two coats (kinda thick) followed by a top coat and I'm done. I will say that it does need a top coat, but that is not a problem for me because I always use one. Such a beautiful shade!

China Glaze Gamer Glam is from the Tronica collection and is a blue-toned, grayed, medium-light lavender holographic polish. The holo effect on this one is interesting but, in my opinion, kind of boring (for a holo, that is). It's nowhere near the blingy scatter effect of the Kaleidoscope Collection and not even close to the linear flame effect of the OMG collection (but still very pretty). This one just kinda sits there and looks pretty and makes an otherwise regular old lavender polish something special. Now for the application . . . gloopy (needed to add some thinner) and it will do the same thing as the OMG and Kaleidoscope polishes if you have to paint over an already-painted area, it will leave a bald patch. If you can avoid re-painting areas, there won't be a problem with this and it will be totally opaque and bottle color in two coats. Another thing this polish does (which is the same as some of the Kaleidoscopes) is that it dries very dull but shines up super-nice with a top coat. Drying time was also quicker with this line than with other regular CG polishes. All in all, the formula and application are the same on this collection as on the other two CG holo collections. The color of Gamer Glam is very pretty but on my pale skin with slight yellow undertones it's clashing with my skin tone. In some lighting it looks really good, in other lighting my hands look lobster-y (like they've been in dishwater all day), and in still other lighting, the color is almost corpse-like (that would be from the slight gray underbase that this one has). Lavender is not a color that I can wear well and while I like this color on other people (and it IS a pretty color!) it does not look good on me. Therefore, "I" would not buy it again but would recommend it to anyone who can wear lavender.

I missed the first wave of the holo craze and had to jump on board for China Glaze Tronica.

I missed the first wave of the holo craze and had to jump on board for China Glaze Tronica. While I was a bit disappointed with the subtle, scattered holographic effect, Gamer Glam is a very pretty polish. It's a grapey purple that feels just a bit lavender. The iridescent holographic particles look almost 3D when you look at the nail up close, and while it's a neat effect, it's not something anyone would notice spontaneously. The formula is fantastic it's thin, so it's easy to apply 3-4 coats for full coverage. Normally, I'd complain about 4 coats, but Gamer Glam dries in a flash!

Although I missed out on China Glazes' OMG and Kaleidoscope collections, this will suffice.

Although I missed out on China Glazes' OMG and Kaleidoscope collections, this will suffice. I was expecting a more halo-like effect just as the OMG collection turned out, but why would China Glaze repeat a line?! If you already own some of, or all of the OMG collection, you may not be happy with the Tronica collection. Personally, I give this a 5 because I do like the effect it has under most incandescent lighting, even in natural lighting it's pretty.I applied three coats of Gamer Glam. I noticed by the third application it left behind a few bumpy obvious streak marks. I think it's best to work in thin layers. Perhaps two coats would work just as well. It dries to a semi-matte finish, which I do not like with these. So I topped it off with China Glazes Fast Forward Top Coat, which makes the halo pop. Overall, I do like Gamer Glam. I have Laser Lime and High Def, which I will review soon. I would definitely purchase this again should I run out of this color and the line is still available.
