A total waste of money and time

I wrote the "first impression" on the gel polish, previously. As an update, I applied a 3rd coat a week later as was chipping so badly, and then when I went to remove it, two weeks later, it was impossible!! I spent two hours, ruining my nails, trying to get the polish off, when the CND shellac always took me 10 min. with a foil wrap. NOW, I went to use the lacquer for my pedicure, as I don't use gels on toes. I am not a novice; I have been doing my own nails for almost 60 yrs. I always use OPI lacquer for pedicures, along with their base coat and top coat. It goes on beautifully and wears so well that I do a new pedi when have too much growth and want a color change, not because it ever looks bad. I can go 4-5 weeks easily and looks like just done. Currently, I have almost 30 bottles, just of the lacquer. I now know why this DND stuff is so inexpensive- you get what you pay for. It is horrible! Unless I got a bad batch, I will never use this again. I had done my whole prep, which is 'professional grade', then my base coat and my ridge filler. Unlike the DND gel, the laquer is very thick and gloppy. It went on horribly! I got one foot done and saw that it had dried streaky and totally matte. Granted, I still had another coat and top coat to do, but it looked so bad after just one coat on one foot that I said the heck with it, not spending all the time it would take me to have it look horrible, I cut my losses and removed all of it, and will have to start all over tomorrow when I have the time again...not happy at all. At this point in my life, am not wasting time and money on subpar products; I will stick with tried and true products that I know are good and the outcome is predictable.

First impression

First, I have been doing my own gel polish for about 8 yrs. using the CND LED lamp, and mainly CND shellac polish with some OPI. I saw a youtuber I follow wearing this color and I loved it, as most of my reds are more blue-toned and look 'winterish' to me. I don't look great in real coral but this seemed perfect. One thing, in outside sunny lighting it looks almost neon orange, and indoors goes back to a vibrant red. I don't understand the description saying no base is needed. I did buy the gold cap base and top coat to use with it. One caveat- it is VERY thin consistency, especially the base coat, and you really need to put a much smaller amount on the brush, than normal, or it will run into the cuticle line and you will not be able to get it out. The issue I had is that I always seal the ends, exactly like the CND webinar showed, and within just a few days, all the edges started wearing off! I never had that happen with CND or OPI. I cannot see it lasting 3 weeks. After one week I added another coat of color ( I had done 2 initially ) and another coat of the top coat and will see if I get to full 2 weeks that way. Unless I am doing something wrong, I don't know why all the edges wore off and started chipping. I had cured base, color, and top for about 90 sec. instead of the usual 60 with LED. Maybe that was too long?? I will have to experiment. I really love the color and would like to try others as the price is alot lower than CND or OPI. Any advice would be appreciated!! I have not tried the regular laquer yet, will do that for pedi next time, but will be using OPI base and top coat with it.
